PLEASE NOTE THE RESTAURANT IS CLOSED UNTIL THE 8TH DECEMBER. WE ARE OFFERING TAKE-AWAY & FOOD UPSTAIRS IN THE COCKTAIL BAR IN THE MEANTIME.

Please note we stop taking online reservations 30 minutes before the time chosen on the given day, to make a booking after this time please give the restaurant a call on 01924 263626 or email info@barbiccari.co.uk to discuss your booking.

If you're unable to book at your required time please contact the restaurant directly as they maybe able to squeeze you in.

We will require credit/debit card details to be held incase of no shows and late cancellations, your card will not be charged at the time of booking and is only used in the instance of late cancellations (within 24 hours of booking time) and no shows. Please refer to the cancelation policy when booking.

For parties larger than 8 please give the restaurant a call directly on 01924 263626. Parties of 8 or more will be liable to a 10% discresionary optional service charge.

About Us


Ciao and welcome to Bar Biccari Pizzeria Ristorante, a little bit of Italy in the heart of Horbury. Our family has spent many happy hours in our ancestral village of Biccari, a small village in the region of Puglia, Southern Italy.

Food, family, fine wines and good times, we wanted to extend some of our experiences to you.

Our Head Chef - Gianluca

My name is Gianluca Chiarelli I was born in November 1970 in a little village: Settimello, seven miles from Florence. It is here I began my story at the age of 22, thanks to my mum; I was inspired to take the path of cooking. I attended college in Florence and studied culinary for 2 years. After, I started to work in many restaurants trying to build up my knowledge. My turning point was when I worked for the great Italian chef Gualtiero Marchesi in his restaurant. This was the best restaurant in Italy at the time with 3 Michelin stars. Thanks to him I started to work in one of his restaurants on the cruise ships, where I met my English partner, which brought me to England. In England I have worked in a number of successful restaurants, Gordon Ramsey’s in Chelsea, The Box Tree in Ilkley with Simon Gueller and Oulton Hall in Rothwell, which led me to then open my own cafe bistro for 4 years. I am now excited about my time here at Bar Biccari, bringing my authentic Italian style and recipes to the food.
